Sad, sad library news

I seem to be seeing a lot more of these stories in the last year or so. The San Francisco Chronicle just ran this article about big library closures in Oregon. I applaud the community of Medford, Oregon and the surrounding area for their protests and their attempts to keep the library open. Having read the article though, I understand why it happened.

Sad, sad times. According to the article, this is the largest library closure in US history.
